VIVA Medical has successfully designed, developed, and manufactured South Africa’s first needle-free connector/port.
The VIVAsite™ was made possible by a team of dedicated biomedical engineers, clinicians, and the SAMRC. We at VIVA Medical believe this is a major step forward in our pursuit to encourage local innovation within healthcare and to discourage the importation of products we are more than capable of manufacturing.
All South African manufacturers currently import needle-free connectors to build into their IV administration sets, this, however, comes at great cost as needle-free connectors are the highest value component in an IV set. The VIVAsite has been designed with the principles of innovation and cost-reduction to produce a medical device that is suitable for the local landscape but will also comply with international standards.
Our Products
VIVA Medical manufactures a complete range of gravity infusion administration sets for the delivery of clear fluids, Chemotherapy, TPN, Blood and blood products. Our range of extension sets include both adult and paediatric versions in all standard lengths and includes a needle free range of J Loop, bifurcated and trifurcated needle free extension sets as well as a range of TIVA anaesthesia extension sets.
